SIGMA 433
Best Budget Buy Award
Computer Shopper (August '00)
Presentation
A large yet stylish notebook weighing in at over 7.5lb with
a pale sliver finish. Pacman-shaped LEDs and grille-covered
front-facing speakers help the Sigma 433 to stand out from
the crowd.
Configuration
With only a Celeron 433 processor and 64Mb Ram, performance
is below what might be expected from a notebook of this size,
although an 8Mb ATI chip ensures a good level of graphics
performance.
Features
No DVD as standard but the Sigma 433 does boast a desktop
replacement class 14.1' screen, integrated modem and TV-out
port. The Li-ion battery pack comes with a battery-life indicator
that can be operated via a button on the Sigma's right flank.
Summary
This will appeal to those who want a large screen without
wanting to splash out on oodles of power. The incorporation
of the screen does result in bulky dimensions and a lack of
portability. Reviewed Issue 150, Page 376
If you're after a large screen but can do with PIII performance
or DVD , Rock's Sigma 433 is also well worth a look at at
just £1,350 and receives a Best Budget Buy.
