With a Windows Media Center laptop, like the Rock Pegasus 680, you can not only watch Freeview wherever you go (and on a proper-szed 15.4 inch screen, too), but you can also record shows, listen to music and watch DVDs.
It·s not the cheapest route to go down – the internal hybrid analogue/digital TV tuner upgrade nudges the price up to a grand – but for your money you get a powerful PC with a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo T8100 processor and 160 gigs of storage. The GeForce 8600M GT graphics card isn·t work-shy either, so you can even get in a bit of gaming between episodes of Lark Rise to Candleford and F*** Off, I·m fat.
Love: Proper TV-sized screen, plus a whole laptop·s worth of other things to play with.
Hate: Not exactly the most elegant or subtle way to savour TV on the move.
