SIGMA SI

There was a time when notebooks where the poorer cousins of
desktop models. In order to have portability, you had to
sacrifice power and functionality.
Finished in a stylish charcoal grey and silver, the slim
build and tight lines of this laptop make an instant visual
impression. Its not just a pretty face either, boasting
TV-out, a FireWire connector and the now ubiquitous DVD
support, all this means that this svelte beauty is up to most
of the jobs you care to throw at it.
Based around the speedy 1Ghz Pentium III, the Sigma Si has
been tuned for performance, something evident in our
benchmarks. It produced the highest score in our office tests
(with an overall result of 161 marks). And was but a shade
behind the Ultinote 8400 in the games department (49fps in
Quake III is nothing to be scoffed at).
The touchpad and keyboard are both responsive, but the
three quick launch buttons are a little hard to press
defeating the point slightly. The screen is clear and thanks
to the raw power of the machine, it is more than capable of
producing smooth DVD playback.
