Warwick based specialist notebook manufacturer rockdirect,
has today announced its launch of the first Mobile Intel
Pentium 4 3.06Ghz notebook to feature a spectacular
17” WXGA TFT display. - Introducing the
Quaddra DTS.
The new Quaddra DTS combines powerful presentation
capability and maximum digital entertainment possibilities
with portability, making it the most fully featured
total mobile solution for work or play.
Featuring a stunning 17” widescreen display,
running at 1440 x 900 resolution, the screen represents
the largest ever seen in a notebook PC, allowing for
far more information to be displayed on a notebook screen
than ever before; perfect for watching the latest DVD’s,
giving breathtaking presentations or for viewing and
working on multiple applications at the same time.
The whole system is powered by the NEW Mobile Intel
Pentium 4 3.06GHz processor with Intel SpeedStep Technology,
allowing users to experience real desktop performance
along with all the benefits of mobility, including low
power consumption and extended system battery life.
In addition, with an extensive full sized keyboard and
separate numeric keypad, true desktop quality has been
achieved. Never before has a user been able to enjoy
the extensive power and performance of a 17” desktop
replacement notebook computer without compromising on
portability. Weighing just 3.6Kg, and only 36.5mm thick,
the Quaddra DTS truly offers all-in-one functionality
and the highest level of performance in the thinnest
form factor in its class.
The impressive specs don’t stop there, powering
the machines graphics is an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
with 64Mb dedicated graphics memory, a cutting edge
product for visuals on the move making the Quaddra DTS
powerful enough to run the most graphics-intensive 3D
games or business presentations with ease. Furthermore,
the unit incorporates 5.1 DTS sound output together
with an explosive 5 speaker system, including a removable
subwoofer (which can be substituted for an optional
TV Tuner or 6-in-1 card reader) to really enhance the
DVD viewing, game playing and home theatre experience.
The Quaddra DTS also plays host to a DVD recorder,
compatible with the widely accepted DVD -R/-RW
formats. This means that over 4GB of valuable data can
be backed up in one go, or over two hours of full multimedia
content. And that’s without the need to plug anything
else
into the machine. It’s feature enhanced further
by the built in video camera module, which comes as
standard, with further optional extras including up-to-the-minute
wireless networking capabilities.

The Quaddra DTS will begin shipping in July 2003 with
prices starting at just £1,199 (excluding VAT).

XP Home Operating System, Ability Office 2002 Software
and Panda Anti Virus Software. In addition, designed
