Following on from the success of the Xeno-m series, rockdirect has today announced its new thin and light, high performance portable notebook to the mobile market, the Xeno-sp. This model is the first to feature rockdirects revolutionary SmartPower® Technology, which provides mobile users with full desktop PC performance whilst extending system battery life.

Users looking to take advantage of the high performance, low cost benefits that come from using desktop CPU notebook solutions have up until now been forced to put up with larger machines due to thermal tolerances and battery size.

Introduction to SmartPower®
SmartPower® is a technology that empowers the desktop CPU with enhanced power-management features. Programmed into the systems Bios, SmartPower® accesses the computer hardware directly, regardless of the operating system and automatically adjusts the CPU performance to varying gradients of throttle according to utilisation of CPU.

Together with this powerful CPU, the Xeno SP supports up to 1Gb Double Data Rate (DDR) Synchronous DRAM and features a crisp 14-inch XGA TFT display and a CD-RW/DVD combo drive for optimum multimedia functionality.
