Rock launches Sigma Si with internal CD-RW drive

Designed to complement the Sigma Si line, Rock has launched a new Sigma Si featuring an integral CDRW drive, allowing for high capacity read/write storage. The drive is a 4x CDRW, allowing writing at 4x, re-writing at 4x and reading at 20x.The Sigma Si CDRW is available immediately with a selling price of £1,499 (excluding VAT).

The Sigma Si CDRW is a powerful, yet stylish notebook computer, featuring Intel's Pentium III 1Ghz processor delivering desktop-class performance to top executives, frequent travellers and technology professionals.

Among its attributes, the Sigma Si CDRW comes equipped with a 20Gb hard drive expandable to 30Gb, 256Mb SDRAM expandable to 512Mb and complete Windows operating systems support. Other features include an internal 10/100Mbit/sec-network card, IEEE 1394 Firewire for quick and easy video and photography transfer and an integrated V.90 56k-modem connection for seamless Internet access.

The combination of top performance and features makes the Sigma Si CDRW a great choice for even the most demanding users. Unlike other notebooks, the Sigma Si CDRW features the new SIS 630S chipset delivering the latest high-speed 133Mhz Front Side Bus (FSB) enabling processing power of up to 1Ghz, previously only available on a desktop computer. These attributes make quicker, more powerful business computing possible whilst on the move.

The Sigma Si also offers impressive image quality with a 14.1" TFT screen at XGA (1024x768) resolution and enhanced multimedia functions with its dual capacity of combining Video RAM with on-board memory (SMA - Shared Memory Architecture). This exciting new feature has user defined RAM/Video configurations allowing users to utilise up to 32Mb Video RAM enhancing the productivity of software applications installed.
