Introduction
This booklet has been designed to help the novice user to set up their Rock Agenda notebook computer with Windows 2000. Some knowledge of computers is required to follow through this booklet. If you experience any difficulties when setting up the software, contact mobile-support.net Customer Services. Please ensure all extra devices (PC cards, Modems, Network cards, external mice etc.) are removed before starting this installation. If you have any queries regarding any part of this installation, please do not hesitate to contact the mobile-support.net Technical Support Department Complete Reinstall WARNING: ALL DATA ON HARD DISK DRIVE WILL BE DELETED These instructions assume a completely blank Hard Disk. 1) Switch The Agenda XT On and, when prompted, press F2 to enter setup
Installation of Video drivers on Agenda XT under Windows 2000 a) Right click on My Computer click properties and then hardware then Click Device Manager
Installation of Sound Drivers on Agenda XT Under Windows 2000 Windows 2000 would load standard sound drivers during the installation you may not need to install any drivers for sound. Installation of Modem on Agenda XT Under Windows 2000 1) Ensure the Floppy disk is inserted with upgrade modem driver for win2k
Installation of Drivers for the Internal Network Card 1) Ensure the Drivers CD is inserted into the CDROM drive
2) Select Boot->Boot Device Priority and change so that CDROM is first, Diskette second and Hard Drive third.
3) Press F10 then return to save changes
4) Insert Windows 98 CD and press any key to �Boot from CDROM� when prompted
5) Press enter to set-up windows 2000 when prompted
6) Windows Wizard will now set-up Windows 2000
7) Read the license agreement and, press F8 �I accept the agreement�
8) Press Enter to install using unpartitioned space
9) Format the partition using the NTFS file system and press enter
10) Please wait while set-up formats the partition
11) Leave the current file system intact (no change) and set-up will examine your drive and copy files, this may take several minutes to complete
12) Click next to continue set-up. Windows will detect devices on your computer and the screen may flicker a few times which is normal
13) Regional settings message will appear and select customise and select English (UNITED KINGDOM) and click apply and ok keyboard select English (UNITED KINGDOM) and click ok and next
14) Type in name and organisation if relevant
15) Carefully enter the Product ID number found on your certificate of Authenticity.
16) Click next on next screen administrator password
17) Change the date time and click next
18) Wait for network setting to install software and components and wait for final set of tasks this may take a few moments and click finish after the installation is complete
19) Windows will restart automatically
20) Click next if you wish not to connect an network and finish
21) Congratulations, you have now installed Windows 98. All that is left is to install the video and sound drivers � instructions are included overleaf
b) Click the [+] next to Display Adapters and Double Click Silicon motion Lynx3DM
c) Click reinstall drivers from the general tab
d) Click next and search for better drivers which is recommended by windows
e) Tick CDROM drive and Click Next
f) Please wait whist Windows find new drivers and Click Next
g) Select yes to continue the installation and wait for files to copy and Click on Finish
h) Close all windows and restart the machine by Clicking on Start and Shut Down select restart from the menu which will appear if you Click on the down arrow then Click OK
i) Wait for windows to reload
j) If the window appears to be in the middle with a black surround follow the steps below:
o Right Click on the desktop and select properties
o Click the Settings tab from the menu above and change the screen area and colours to
Size: 1024x768
Colours: High Colour (16 Bit)
Apply theses setting by clicking on apply and then OK
2) Right click on My Computer select properties and then select Device Manager
3) Double Click the entry labelled:
PCI Communication Device
4) Click the reinstall driver tab and click next
5) Search for better drivers recommended and click next
6) Tick floppy disk drives and click next wait for wizard to search for drivers
7) Click next when windows finds drivers
8) Click yes and files would be copied over and click finish
9) Close all windows and restart the machine
10) Your drivers are now installed
2) Right click on My computer and select properties
3) Now click on Device Manager
4) Select the reinstall drivers tab
5) Click next and next again wait for windows to search for suitable drivers
6) Place a tick in CDROM box and click next
7) Wait for the wizard to copy over the files and click next when finished
8) Click on the yes tab to continue with the installation of the drivers and click finish
9) Close all windows and restart the machine
10) Your drivers are now installed
