Our research project involves a fieldwork team of eight interviewers who must travel to all corners of the UK to administer computerised tasks to over 2,000 10-year-old children. This provided a formidable challenge as we required highly portable laptop computers with a touch-sensitive display. We found few affordable options on the market and several models exceeded our budget. Fortunately we found the portable tablet PC with a touch-sensitive display by RockDirect, which made our project possible.
