History

Founded in June 1992, notebook manufacturer rockdirect (formally known as Rock Computers) is one of the largest and most respected manufacturers of leading edge mobile notebook technology in the UK.

At its manufacturing facility in Warwick, rockdirect design and support a complete range of inspiring notebook computers to Consumers, Businesses and Education Establishments.

Ten years ago Rock entered the notebook market with the launch of their NP-1O1 notebook, featuring a 16MHz 386SX CPU, 1Mb RAM, 20Mb HDD and an 8.5" mono LCD. It was to be the first of many milestones in Rock's history with their inspiration driving many of the major advances in notebook technology.

In addition to continued technological innovation in the portable computing market, rockdirect is the only notebook manufacturer to supply a 3 year (insurance backed) collect and return warranty on it's entire notebook range as standard, ensuring it offers the most comprehensive after sales service of any notebook manufacturer.

We were also a founder member of the Personal Computer Association http://www.pcauk.org/ and adhere to a professional code of practice that ensures a quality of service which is second to none.

Apart from rock solid service and support, we have always had a reputation for being industry innovators in technological breakthroughs. If you were to look at the history of the notebook computer, it would look very much like a list of our achievements.
